SABUJ SATHI PRAKALPA
Mamata Banerjee, the honorable chief minister of West Bengal has launched the noble project of Sabujh Sathi. “Sabujh Sathi” – ‘sabuj’ in Bengali means green which implies children and ‘sathi’ means companion. The scheme covers all students of the state including boys and girls from 9th to 12th class. The purpose of the scheme is to encourage students to continue their higher studies and decrease the number of dropouts. This project has a lot of benefits. Mamata Banerjee herself has given the name “Sabuj Sathi” to this prakalpa. In the month September 2015, the chief minister started cycle distribution among students through this project from a stage of the programme in west Mednipur. The renowned cycle producer companies had been tendered to provide the cycles. S.D.O, B.D.O, and Executive Officer of Municipality are included for a particular time in it.
